About ValueTheWebsite
Website audits that tell small business owners exactly what to fix, in plain English.
Why we exist
Most website audit tools hand you a long list of technical warnings, like "render-blocking resources" or "missing canonical tag", and leave you to work out which ones matter. That works for developers. It doesn't work for the bakery owner, the plumber or the freelance designer who just wants to know why their site isn't bringing in customers.
ValueTheWebsite scans your whole site, ranks every problem by how much it actually affects you, and explains each one in plain English, so you know what to fix first and can do it yourself or hand it to whoever manages your site.
Who runs it
ValueTheWebsite was founded in 2026 by Gregory Carter in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. It started as a tool for checking websites and domains before buying them, and grew into a full audit once it was clear how many small businesses had no simple way to see what was holding their site back.
We're a small, independent company. Every report, feature and support reply comes from the same team that builds the product.
Where our data comes from
- Our own crawler checks up to 100 pages free (1,000 in the Full Report) for titles, descriptions, headings, broken links, redirects, sitemaps, robots.txt, structured data, security settings and more.
- Google PageSpeed Insights provides real speed measurements, including data from real Chrome users when Google has enough of it.
- Moz provides Domain Authority, the Google searches a site ranks for, and the websites linking to it.
- Anthropic's Claude writes the Full Report's plain-English fix plan from the scan results, and runs our "Does AI recommend you?" check.
How we work
- The free scan needs no signup and no credit card.
- Scores start at 100 and only go down for problems the scan actually found, with the evidence shown.
- The Full Report is a one-time payment. No subscriptions unless you choose uptime monitoring.
- We only look at what's publicly visible on your site, the same pages search engines see.
- We don't promise rankings or traffic. Nobody honest can. We show you what to fix and why.
