Free scan and Full Report
Is the free report really free?
Yes. No credit card and no signup for your first 2 scans, and a free account gives you 2 more every month. You get your overall score, the score for each category, every problem we found ranked by impact, speed, security and Domain Authority, and a summary PDF.
What's the difference between the free report and the Full Report?
The free report shows what's wrong. The Full Report shows how to fix it: exactly which pages each problem is on, a step-by-step fix for every problem, ready-to-paste titles and descriptions, the Google searches you already show up for, the top sites linking to you, a design review of your homepage on a computer and a phone, the "Does AI recommend you?" check, your Google Business Profile for local businesses, and a free re-scan within 60 days. It checks up to 1,000 pages instead of 100.
How much is the Full Report, and is it a subscription?
$9.99, paid once. No subscription. Sites with more than 1,000 pages can get a large-site report that checks up to 5,000 pages for $5 more.
How long does a scan take?
A free scan takes about a minute. A Full Report checks far more pages and writes your fixes, so it usually takes a few minutes, and up to about 15 for big sites. We email you when it's ready.
Why is my Full Report score different from my free scan?
The Full Report checks far more of your site: up to 1,000 pages instead of 100. More pages usually means it finds problems the free scan never reached, so the score is often a few points lower. Your site didn't get worse; we looked deeper. Scores can also move a few points between any two scans because Google's speed test varies from run to run. If you ran a free scan first, your Full Report shows both scores side by side.
What's the free re-scan?
After you fix things, scan the same website again for free within 60 days of your Full Report to see your score move and confirm the fixes worked.
Can I share the report with my developer?
Yes. Download the PDF and send it to anyone. It's written so owners and developers can both follow it: plain English first, with the technical details a developer needs.
What if my site can't be scanned?
You'll see why straight away, in plain English, with steps to fix it. If the scan stopped before it could check your site, your report credit stays on your account so you can run it again after the fix.
Do I get a refund if my website blocks the scan?
No. If Cloudflare, a firewall, a security plugin, a login page or downtime stops our scanner, that's a setting on your website, not a problem with our service, so no refund is given. We'll show you what blocked it and how to let our scanner in, and your report credit stays on your account so you can run it again.
How the checks work
Do I need to install anything on my website?
No. We only read what's public, the same pages Google sees. Nothing to install, no logins, no plugins.
Does it check my whole site or just the homepage?
Your whole site, by following your links and your sitemap: up to 100 pages in a free scan and up to 1,000 in the Full Report. Most free checkers only look at the homepage.
Where does the speed data come from, especially for small sites?
From Google's own speed test (PageSpeed Insights) on a simulated phone. We run it 3 times and use the middle result. When Google has real-visitor data for your site (Chrome UX Report), we add it. Most small sites don't have enough visitors for that yet, and the report says so plainly instead of passing the test results off as visitor data. The Full Report also lists what's slowing your homepage down, biggest saving first.
Where does Domain Authority come from?
From Moz, a well-known SEO company. It's a 1 to 100 score based mostly on how many websites link to yours. It isn't a Google score and doesn't change your health score.
Does it work with WordPress, Shopify, Wix and Squarespace?
Yes. We check the pages your site sends to visitors, whatever it's built with, and the fixes mention your platform when we can tell what it is. If your site builds its pages in the browser with JavaScript, the report says some content may not have been readable.
AI visibility
Does the AI check look at robots.txt, or does it actually ask an AI?
Both, because they're two different problems. Every report, free included, reads your robots.txt rules for the AI readers the main assistants use (GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended) and checks for an llms.txt file. The Full Report then asks an AI assistant 5 questions a real customer would ask and shows whether it recommends you.
Is "Does AI recommend you?" a live check, and can I repeat it?
It's live. We write 5 questions a real customer would ask, without your business name, and ask each one to Claude with live web search. The report prints the exact questions, the date, and who got recommended instead, so you can ask the same questions yourself. AI answers change over time, so treat it as a snapshot.
Blocked scans and our bot
My site said "Too many requests" or blocked the scan. What can I do?
Some firewalls, often Cloudflare's Bot Fight Mode or a rate limit, turn our scanner away even though visitors see the site normally. We stop instead of grading the block page, so you never get a report full of problems your site doesn't have. To let us in, allow the user agent ValueTheWebsiteBot. Step-by-step instructions are on our bot page.
Does your scanner slow my site down?
No. It loads at most 2 pages at a time with a pause between them, slows down if your site asks it to, follows your robots.txt (including Crawl-delay), and only visits when someone asks for a report.
Local businesses
Does it check my Google Business Profile?
Yes, in the Full Report for local businesses. We find your listing on Google Maps and show its rating, reviews, hours, phone and website, and flag problems like no listing, a different phone number, a link to the wrong website, very few reviews or a "closed" status. Every report also checks that your homepage shows your opening hours and gives Google your address, phone and hours.
Uptime monitoring
How often do you check, and from where?
Every minute, from three locations: Virginia, Los Angeles and the United Kingdom.
Does one location failing set off an alert?
No. If one location can't reach your site, our Virginia server checks it again straight away, and we only email you if that fails too. A hiccup on one checker's network won't wake you up.
How early do SSL and domain expiry alerts warn me?
30, 14, 7 and 1 day before your SSL certificate or your domain expires.
What do the monitoring plans cost?
Uptime is $4.99 a month for 10 websites or APIs, Plus is $9.99 for 30, Pro is $19.99 for 100 and Agency is $49 for 300. Yearly plans get 2 months free. Every plan includes the same features, and you can cancel anytime.
Privacy
What do you do with my data?
We use it to run your scans and keep your account working. We don't sell it, show ads or use it to train AI. Reports made without an account can only be opened from their private link for 7 days. The full details are in our privacy policy.
