Who we are
ValueTheWebsite ("we," "us") provides website health reports at valuethewebsite.com. We are based in Pennsylvania, United States. Questions about this policy can be sent to mail@valuethewebsite.com.
Information you give us
When you create an account we collect your display name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash). If you choose "Continue with Google," Google shares your name, email address, and a Google account identifier with us; we never receive your Google password. We also store the website addresses you submit and the reports we generate for them.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers. We receive a record of the purchase, such as the amount, date, email address, and a transaction reference.
Technical and usage information
To prevent abuse and enforce free-report limits, we record a one-way hash of your IP address and a random identifier stored in your browser. We use privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics that count page visits in aggregate. Your browser's local storage holds your sign-in session and any scan in progress.
Websites you scan
Our reports analyze publicly available information about the website you submit, such as its pages, response headers, DNS records, and SSL certificate. Reports are private to you and are never publicly listed.
How we use information
We use your information to run scans, deliver and store your reports, process purchases, send report and account emails, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the service. We send product or marketing updates only if you separately opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Service providers
We share only the information each provider needs to perform its service: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Cloudflare (bot protection), Google (sign-in and performance data), Anthropic (AI-written report explanations, which receive scan results about the submitted website), and Moz, OpenPageRank, and IPinfo (domain authority and hosting data about the submitted website). We do not sell or rent your personal information.
How long we keep information
Reports saved to your account remain available for the life of your account. Reports created without an account can be opened only through a private link that expires after seven days. When you delete your account, we delete your account details, sessions, and saved reports, except records we must keep for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.
Your choices and rights
You can update your profile or delete your account from your dashboard at any time. You may also email us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. We will respond within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law.
Security
We use encrypted connections, hashed passwords, and restricted server access to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you as required by law if a breach affects it.
Children
ValueTheWebsite is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email.
